As I reflect on what you wrote in this blog, it makes me become increasingly aware of how our judgement of others can cause spiritual blindness, causing us not to reach people the way that Jesus reached out with His incredible love. When I read Luke 4:18-19, it says to bring the “good news”. His compassion and love draws sinners to Him, not judgement or fear (the being afraid kind).

This is exactly the kind of storytelling that pulls the veil back.

So many of us grew up hearing a version of God that focused more on His wrath than His heart — and because of that, Jesus was never fully understood.

The beauty of Scripture, even in the Old Testament, is that God’s goodness is threaded through every story. From the very beginning, He has always been eager to forgive, to restore, to draw near — not to withdraw from our mess.

Thank you for sharing the raw reality of your story and the revelation that followed. It reflects the Jesus who moves toward us, not away from us. The way you framed this helps reshape how we see Him — patient, present, and unafraid of our mess.
